The City is set in the mountains, within the Mantaro Valley, offering spectacular walking and cycling trips. It is also only a 4 hours drive to the High Jungle, where volunteers have a choice of how adventurous they want to be! There are many smaller towns and traditional villages near to Huancayo, which have much to offer. They provide the opportunity to visit traditional, indigenous villages in the area and to experience their culture. Huancayo and its surroundings have many market days offering traditional Peruvian handicrafts and gifts and provide a fanastic atmosphere.

PFY has expeditions placements in comunities in Huancayo, Huancavelica, the central High Jungle, the Amazon jungle, Lima and Cusco the journey is spectacularand it is also some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole of Peru.
